A doctor that rocks (“Doctor Rhythm” The DC5), a self-medicating wife/mom (“Mother’s Little Helper” The Stones), come down with a dose of “Love-Itis” (J Geils), “Cat Scratch Fever” (Ted Nugent), and “The Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu” (Aerosmith). Just like the guys, the ladies formed garage bands all over the country, most releasing self-financed records on small indie labels, with some getting the notice of the majors. Even the name he picked (his real one was Arnold Dorsey) caused us to dismiss him as pointless, a entertainer whose sole ambition in life was to work on a cruise ship (I was going to say a theme park, but I have too much respect for those at Cedar Point). Paul died in a car crash on Wednesday morning at 5AM on Nov 9th 1966 and was replaced by the winner of a Paul McCartney look-a-like contest. The surviving Beatles used the albums to leak audio and visual clues to the fans to quiet their guilty conscious. Ridiculous, right? or was it? The VG explores the clues from Beatles albums; The White Album, The Beatles Again(Hey Jude), Yellow Submarine, Abbey Rd, Anthology 3, and from the solo lps Lennon’s Imagine, and Paul’s Memory Almost Full.
